Nairobi, 2nd August 2022…… Zetech University was officially awarded a Charter by H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta, having fulfilled the regulatory requirements and after a rigorous assessment by the Commission for University Education (CUE). With the award of the Charter, the University will now focus on sustaining and strengthening Academic and Scholarly Excellence in Teaching and Research as it continues to deliver market-driven programmes, cutting-edge research and innovation to serve society.

The Zetech University Football team locked down a needed win against University of Nairobi’s Tandaza side in a heated clash during the start of the 2018 SportPesa Shield FKF tournament this past weekend. The Varsity side silenced their opponents 1-0 with a lucky 91st minute goal by Aron Omar during extra time, in the round of 64 outing.

The gents maintained pace during the intense game held at the opponent’s lower Kabete campus, to avert a penalty shootout to qualify for the next round when they will face Friendzone FC.

Zetech University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Huawei Technologies Ltd to become a Huawei Authorized Information Network Academy (HAINA), in line with the Varsity’s efforts to prepare graduates for the employment and entrepreneurial market.

The agreement set to take effect immediately, will see the institution offer Huawei programmes to students to boost their skills in IT, kicking off with network based course, Routing and Switching; the course will complement other university IT courses as well as empower networking professionals advance their careers.  Through the skills gained, students will be in a better position to generate innovative solutions and creativity in IT and enterprise.

The Zetech University sports fraternity celebrated a deserved win after the varsity Karate team silenced over 12 universities to emerge second in the Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA) national championship playoffs, to qualify for the upcoming East Africa Championship Games to be held in Tanzania.

The team, coming in second after Kenyatta University, excelled in the Nairobi conference games, bringing home 4 gold medals, 2  silver medals and 1 bronze medal in the semifinal level under the KarateKUMITE and KATA individual and team games to qualify for the national fete that took place in Bungoma County.

May 2018… Varsity Students have been called on to position themselves for the market by coming up with innovative ways of learning and engage with faculty to revolutionize the learning experience in Kenya, during the Zetech University international research conference. The event saw scholars discuss the need to promote innovation in business, IT and entrepreneurship.

The research, a first of its kind at the University, was organised in collaboration with Research Acies Publications and highlights the commitment of the University to expand its research and extensions portfolio to ensure learners benefit from a rich campus experience.

Hundreds of inmates and prison officers graduated with fundamental skills in Information Technology through an education programme run by Zetech University and the Kenya Prisons Service. The initiative aims to equip learners with relevant computer training for the job market and entrepreneurial world.

A total of 123 graduates from five prisons were awarded certificates by the University at a colourful graduation ceremony held at the Nairobi Remand and Allocation Maximum security prison.

The new Zetech University Student Association (ZUSA) team took an oath to serve and represent the varsity students following a successful student election, during a celebratory ceremony held at the institution’s Thika Road Campus.

The students exercised their democratic right, successfully electing a reputable team of qualified students to represent them, following an intense process headed by the Student Affairs department. A well able electoral team presided over the election which was a welcome development for learners, who have eagerly anticipated a fresh team of student leaders.

Zetech University has kicked off admission of 162 government sponsored students placed by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), in the recent placement of 2017 KCSE candidates and those from previous years who successfully applied for placement under Government sponsorship.

This year, Cabinet Secretary for Education Ms. Amina Mohammed noted that of the 69,151 candidates who scored C+ and above, the minimum mean grade required to join university, 62,851 were successfully placed to pursue degree courses of their choice.

January 2018… In the wake of the released 2017 KCSE results, Zetech University held a timely career exhibition in the heart of Nairobi and Kiambu Counties, in a bid to equip Kenyans with important information regarding university education.

Featuring various departments, the four day activity was a rewarding experience for many as the varsity brought information to clients and provided them with a rare opportunity to talk directly to Faculty Heads and lecturers on key aspects of different courses.

Zetech University conferred the varsity’s first group of Degree students, following the receipt of the award letter of interim authority to operate as university in 2014, at a graduation ceremony held at the university main campus.

This year’s ceremony, where 2481 students graduated after successfully competing courses in ICT, engineering, business, development studies, media and communication, hospitality and tourism, focused on the impact of academic excellence on leadership and development.
