Prof. Harriet Kidombo (PhD) - Chairperson
Prof. Harriet Kidombo is an accomplished Human Resource professional and Associate Professor at the University of Nairobi's Department of Business Administration where she teaches and supervises postgraduate research projects and theses.
Prof. Kidombo holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Human Resource Management) from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Human Resource Development from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom (UK) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Nairobi. She also has professional qualifications in Open, Distance and e-Learning from the African Virtual University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution Skills and a Master of Arts in Peace and Reconciliation Studies both from Coventry University, UK.
Over her extensive scholarly career, Prof. Kidombo has been engaged in research and publishing. Some of her research initiatives include the Pan Africa Research Agenda on the Pedagogical Integration of ICT in Education in Africa (Panaf) funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), where she was the Deputy Principal Researcher for Kenya and the development of quality Indicator set for ICT-supported Distance Education, funded by the Vlaamse Interuniversitaire Raad (VLIR)- Belgian Government. She has more than fifty publications in refereed journals and several University level textbooks and study modules.
Prof. Kidombo is an external examiner at Copperbelt University in Zambia, Kenya Methodist University and the Human Resource Management Professional Examination Board. She is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) and the Professional Trainers Association of Kenya (PTAK). She has also held administrative roles as the Faculty Dean and Deputy Director at the University of Nairobi and has been a member of the University Executive Board and the Senate.
Prof. Robert Rukwaro – Vice Chairperson
Prof. Robert Rukwaro is a distinguished academician in the field of architecture, currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Nairobi. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Architecture, a Master of Arts in Building Management, and a Bachelor of Architecture degrees, all from the University of Nairobi. With extensive administrative experience, he has served as the Principal of the College of Architecture and Engineering and the Dean of the Faculty of Built Environment and Design at the University. His areas of specialisation include architectural design with a focus on culture, building technology, and research methods.
A registered architect with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS), Prof. Rukwaro is an active member of the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) and served as the Vice-Chairman of the Institute of Construction Project Management of Kenya (ICPMK). He is the editor of the Africa Habitat Review Journal and has made significant academic contributions, including authoring Proposal Writing in Research and co-authoring Representation Techniques in Building Drawing and Transformation of Maasai Art and Architecture. Additionally, he has chaired and participated in numerous ad-hoc committees at the University of Nairobi, contributing to the development of academic policies and guidelines in the University.
Prof. Rukwaro has played a vital role in the oversight and development of higher education in Kenya, having been a resource person for the Commission for University Education, since 2006, in institutional audits and inspections of over 89 campuses, colleges and universities. He has also collaborated with various government ministries to help shape policies and regulations within the built environment. With over 35 peer-reviewed journal publications, he has supervised to successful completion of 10 Ph.D. dissertations and 25 Master’s theses, further cementing his stand as a leading scholar and mentor in the field.
Prof. John N. Munene - Secretary
Prof. John Munene is the Vice Chancellor, Zetech University. A professor of Clinical Veterinary Medicine with experience in higher education, administration and finance, he has held various management posts including Acting VC, Deputy VC in charge of Administration and Finance, and as Chairman of various academic committees.
A celebrated strategist, he has administrative management experience that includes: Project Director of Animal Industry Consultancy Unit (AICU), Head of Medicine Section, Clinical Studies and Chairman, Board of Post Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, at various institutions.
A gifted intellectual, Prof. Munene also worked as Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and as a Member of the Senate, Dean's Committee and the College of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences Management Board at the University of Nairobi (UON). He started his career in medicine at UON where he pursued a Bachelor's Degree, followed by a Master in Clinical Studies. Subsequently, Prof. Munene attained a Doctorate degree in Clinical Studies (UON) before proceeding to Japan's Obihiro University for Advanced Studies in Protozoan Diseases. The dignified scholar has received several awards attached to his work and has made notable contribution through publications in the Veterinary health, sector in the country.
Prof. James Tuitoek
With over 20 years in leadership, Prof. James Tuitoek has competencies in leadership, management and organisational development, with an admirable ability to effectively initiate and manage change and development in higher education, in both public and private sectors.He earned a PhD in Monogastric Nutrition from the University of Guelph, Canada, having earned an Ms in Animal Science from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Nairobi. His areas of expertise include: university education, research management and executive leadership as well as animal nutrition and livestock production.
Prof. James K Tuitoek has a rich heritage of experience in university management administration that saw him rise to the position of Vice Chancellor at Egerton University. This experience has seen him attain a glowing array of major achievements in research, university resources mobilisation and management.
Prof. Tuitoek's additional strengths include promotion of quality assurance in higher education,organisation and coordination of teams, negotiations, research and collaborations. He has participated in a number of Quality Assurance activities including Chairing a QA committee of the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA). As a respected champion of quality in university education, Prof Tuitoek has led many university assessments, audits, reviews and accreditations.
Ms. Nancy Matimu
Nancy Matimu is a visionary leader, digital transformation expert, and strategic growth architect with over 25 years of experience in driving business success across FinTech, Banking, EdTech, Media, Telecommunications, and Technology sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Joseph Nyonje Kosure
Dr. Kosure is an accomplished business administrator with over 36 years of practice in public service, and proficiency in international experience. He is a visionary leader with outstanding skills in strategic market planning, public relations, media relations, organizational re-engineering and institutional development.
He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Commerce (Marketing) from Shijawi University (India) and a Bachelor of Business Studies (Banking and Export) from Susan University of Science and technology, formerly Khartoum University.
Dr. Kosure has been a guest lecturer at the Kenya School of Government from 2017 to date. Before joining the Kenya School of Government, he served as CEO of the Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution (CIC) of Kenya where he was responsible for leadership and coordination of all functions, among other managerial roles.
He has served Boards of the Kenya Investment Authority, Export Processing Zones Authority, Marketing Society of Kenya and consulted for both local and international firms, including the East African Trade and Investment Hub, USAID/Agile and Harmonized Assistance for Devolved Institutions (AHADI).
He has authored publications in the areas of Marketing, Investment, Export processing and taken part in international workshops and conferences.
Mr. Mungai Peter Muhoho
Mr. Peter Muhoho, who is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (PhD) and holds a Master of Business Administration, has enjoyed a decorated academic life that has seen him earn several awards for exemplary performance in his studies. He has a Bachelor of Law (L.LB) from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Public Secretary.
He has a wealth of experience in management of tax affairs and has over the years provided advisory opinions to entities such as the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) on complex and unique matters Mr Muhoho brings to the team extensive experience in the tax market. As the Head of Tax at Barclays Bank of Kenya, he is skilled in the management of tax risks and devises, as well as the identification and implementation of tax planning opportunities with the objective of achieving tax optimality and efficiency.
Dr. Bernard Baimwera
Bernard has over 20 years of work experience in both the private and public sectors. He is an expert in Public Finance and Education and has worked extensively in the field of Academia, where he has been an education manager, a Senior Lecturer and an education consultant. He has undertaken research in many sectors of the economy, including the education sector, which has helped shape policy directions in the country. He has good working experience in public financial management, public policy advisory, monitoring & evaluation. He has also undertaken many assignments on policy development in government ministries, County governments, and other public institutions such as the development of County Integrated Plans (CIDPs), the development of county budgets, human resource audits and capacity building in financial management and public sector accounting.
He holds a PhD in Finance (Strathmore University), a Master of Business Administration (University of Nairobi), and a Bachelor of Education (University of Nairobi). Professionally he is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya(CPA-K) and Chartered Financial Analyst Level One (CFA).
