Vice Chancellor
PROFESSOR NJENGA MUNENE J. BVM, MSC, PHD (UON) ADV. PROT (OBIHIRO, JAPAN)
Prof. Njenga Munene joined Zetech University in April 2018 from Egerton University where he served for several years in teaching and administration positions, including Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Administration and Finance for a full 5-year term. A full professor of Clinical Veterinary medicine he is a strategist who served as Chairman of various committees including Tender, Website improvement, and disciplinary for staff grade 1-12 among others at the institution and was a member
of the Egerton University Management Board and senate. Egerton University experienced great improvement of the physical facilities and webometric ranking during his tenure as the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administra- tion and Finance. He also chaired the Joint Negotiation Committee(JNC) of Inter Public Universities Council Consultative Forum (IPUCCF).
He has served in various leadership capacities, including: Project Director, Animal Industry Consultancy Unit (AICU), Head of Medicine Section in Clinical Studies Department and Chairman, Board of Post Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He was elected Dean Faculty of Veterinary Medicine thus becoming a Member of the Senate, Dean's Committee and College of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences Management Board, at the University of Nairobi (UON).
Prof Njenga Munene is a Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) registered veterinary surgeon and an active member of Kenya Veterinary Association where he serves as a trustee. He is deeply involved in community service and is a board member of two high schools and is also involved in community projects including water and the church.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy of Clinical Studies, a Master of Science in Clinical Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Nairobi. He further pursued Advanced Studies in Protozoan Diseases at Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Studies in Japan. He is widely travelled and has published and presented in conferences over 50 scientific publications and attracted several research grants. He has been honored with two service awards and certificates of excellent service.

PROF. ALICE NJUGUNA BSCED (EGERTON UNIVERSITY), MSC.IT (UNIVERSITY OF SUNDERLAND), PHD (CAPELLA UNIVERSITY)
Prof. Alice Njuguna joined Zetech in September 2017 from KCA University where she served as Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs. Before this post, she served as Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of ICT and Distance Learning as well as Director, ICT. She also served as Dean, Faculty of Science and IT in the same institution.
She has a wealth experience in ICT and education and has held several leadership roles in the Kenya Edu- cation Network (KENET). At KENET, Prof. Njuguna was Chairperson of the Special Interest Group in educational technology, Member, Audit and Governance Committee and a Member of the Management Board. She has contributed extensively to policy documents such as the Kenyan ICT policy and master plan.
Prof. Njuguna has published extensively in the field of information systems, ICT policy and E-learning. She has also supervised several students in the field of information systems and technology, data communi- cations and E-learning implementation. Additionally, she has developed and implemented several curricula at masters, bachelors and diploma level in the fields of ICT and Data communications. Well-travelled, Prof. Njuguna has attended conferences and collaborated with universities in South Africa, Ghana, Denmark and the US and has hosted several visiting Professors in a bid to create capacity in the field of E-learning. She is a Trainer of Trainers in E-Learning Module development and implementation.
As DVC-ARE&S, she leads the team in implementing quality training, excellent research and stimulating capacity building strategies to ensure students enjoy an excellent learning experience.
Prof. Njuguna holds a First Degree in Science Education from Egerton University, a Master of Science in Computer-based Information Systems from the University of Sunderland and a PhD in Information Technology Education from Capella University.
Chief Operations Officer
LOISE KABURU B. ED (K.U), MBA (UON), HD (IMIS)
Loise Kaburu is an innovative and accomplished business leader with over 18 years of experience in Education Management. She joined Zetech at its inception stage and was instrumental in its establishment and growth. Over the years, she has successfully served in various capacities in Administration, Marketing, Finance and Development. Loise was appointed the Executive Director, Administration from 2013 to 2018 before taking up her current role of Chief Operations Officer in charge of Administration, Finance, Planning and Development.
Her core competencies are Strategic Planning and Execution, Financial Management, Operational Efficiency, Human Resource Management and Development, Process Improvement, Policy Development, Organisational Alignment and Regulatory Compliance.
Ms. Kaburu also sits on the advisory Boards of Techwin Limited and Suntech Power Limited and has previously served as a Board of Director at the Kenya National Library Service, where she served in the Internal Audit and the Marketing, Research and Resource Mobilisation Committees.
She holds a Masters of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Education (Science) from Kenyatta University and a Higher Diploma in IT from the Institute of Management of Information Systems (IMIS). She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Strategic Management) at the University of Nairobi.
Director Human Resource and Planning
BERYL MATE NDUATI HD. HRM (KNEC), B. ENV.SC(K.U), MBA (JKUAT), MIHRM,PHD
Beryl Mate Nduati joined Zetech in December 2008. Over the years, she has risen through the ranks to her current position of Director Human Resource and Planning. In this role, she oversees the execution of strategic initiatives, special projects and workforce development, to ensure students benefit from quality higher education. She also supervises the implementation of strategies covering employment processing, employee relations and retention as well as training and development.
She holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), a Kenya National Examination Council Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Science) from Kenyatta University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human Resource Management and is a member of Institute of Human Resource Management.
Dean School of Business and Economics
PROF. PETER B. KIBAS - FACULTY OF BUSINESS PHD(ILLINOIS), FKIM, MICSB (USA), MISBE (UK)
Prof. Peter B. Kibas joined Zetech University on 1st July, 2018 and was appointed Dean School of Business and Economics. Prof. Kibas, a Professor of Entrepreneurship and Management, is a seasoned academician and brings to the team a wealth of experience and knowledge in university leadership, business education and entrepreneurship.
He has a Doctorate (PhD) degree in Entrepreneurship Development from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UC), USA, a Master of Education Degree, Vocational/Business Studies, University of Illinois at UC and a Bachelor of Education degree, Business Studies from the University of New Bruns- wick, Canada. Additionally, he has a Diploma in Business Studies from Kenyatta University and several Certificate qualifications in business, entrepreneurship and education.
Before joining Zetech, he was a visiting Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship, School of Business at The University of Eastern Africa, Baraton; before that, he served as Vice Chancellor and Full Professor of Entrepreneurship and Management at The Presbyterian University of East Africa, until June 2017. He has also served as Deputy Vice Chancellor and Founding Dean and Director, School of Business at Kabarak University. He has taught, researched and published extensively in the field of entrepreneur- ship and management; presented refereed papers in both local and international conferences; and conducted consultancies for the Kenya Institute of Management, the Government of Kenya, the World Bank, UNDP, DfID and the World Vision, among others. In academia he has supervised graduate students and examined Masters and Doctorate theses from various universities both locally and internationally.
Registrar - Academics
PETER OSUMBA BED, MBA (UON) DIP L&G(ZU)
Peter Osumba joined Zetech in 2010 as a lecturer in the Business Department. He rose through the ranks to serve as the JKUAT programmes coordinator, before taking up the post of Marketing Manager. In 2016, he was appointed Deputy Registrar, in charge of university enrolment and advancement and later rose to the position of Registrar Academics.
In this role, Mr. Osumba oversees student admissions, orientation, registry, university schedule, examinations, certification, graduation and alignment of academic activities to the University policies among other roles. In addition, he is the Secretary to the Deans' Committee and the Senate and leads the team in spearheading inspections and accreditation of the University with relevant academic and professional bodies as well as government institutions.
The seasoned strategist holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Education (Arts) from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Diploma in Leadership and Governance from Zetech University and a Certified Public Accountant qualification. He is also an alumnus of the Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies (DIES) leadership programme under DAAD, an initiative that trains university managers on quality and leadership for impact in higher education. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Kenyatta University.
Away from work, Mr. Osumba engages in career mentorship and community service.
Director Finance
CPA LEONARD GITAU, MSc.(Finance) BA(Economics) CPA-K, CIFA
Leonard is an accomplished Finance and Accounting professional with over 10 years of experience. He joined Zetech University in January 2021 from Farm Concern International where he held the position of Senior Finance Manager spearheading Finance and Grant Management in East and Central Africa. He has previously worked as Finance Manager at Lantech (Africa) Limited where he oversaw the commercial management of projects.
His core competencies include Financial Strategy Formulation, Budgeting & Forecasting, Financial Analysis & Reporting, Quality Control & Compliance, Resource Management, Cost Strategy Management, Risk and Operation Management, Governance and Leadership.
He is a certified Public Accountant-CPA(K) and an Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya(ICPAK)
He holds a Master's Degree in Finance and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi.
Away from work, Mr. Gitau engages in motivational speaking to the young generation, supporting Christian Unions on accounts & audits, and also supporting community projects.
Director Corporate Affairs and Marketing
JOHN MWAI - MPRSK
John is an accomplished Communication and Marketing professional with over 10 years of experience. He joins the University from Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi where he held the position of Regional Manager, Marketing & Business Development. His post at Aga Khan University Hospital entailed Brand Development and Positioning, Budgeting, operational and strategic leadership. He has previously worked with Strathmore University Business School in various capacities, ranging from programme management, business development and regional expansion.
His core competencies are Business Development, Strategic Marketing, Corporate Communications, Partnerships Development, Resource Mobilisation, Brand Management and Thought Leadership.
He is a Certified Professional Coach by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), a Project Management for Development Professional by the APM Group UK, a Certified Trainer of Trainers (ToT) by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and a member of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK).
John holds a masters degree in Public Policy and Management from Strathmore University Business School, Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Leadership from Hochschule Neu Ulm University (HNU) of Applied Sciences Germany, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Public Relations from Moi University.
Away from work, John engages in the mentorship of young and upcoming leaders because he believes in developing ethical leadership in Africa. He is also mentor with Young Leadership African Intiative (YALI).
