PROFESSOR NJENGA MUNENE J. BVM, MSC, PHD (UON) ADV. PROT (OBIHIRO, JAPAN)
Prof. Njenga Munene joined Zetech University in April 2018 from Egerton University where he served for several years in teaching and administration positions, including Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Administration and Finance for a full 5-year term. A full professor of Clinical Veterinary medicine he is a strategist who served as Chairman of various committees including Tender, Website improvement, and disciplinary for staff grade 1-12 among others at the institution and was a member of the Egerton University Management Board and senate. Egerton University experienced great improvement of the physical facilities and webometric ranking during his tenure as the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administra- tion and Finance. He also chaired the Joint Negotiation Committee(JNC) of Inter Public Universities Council Consultative Forum (IPUCCF).
He has served in various leadership capacities, including: Project Director, Animal Industry Consultancy Unit (AICU), Head of Medicine Section in Clinical Studies Department and Chairman, Board of Post Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He was elected Dean Faculty of Veterinary Medicine thus becoming a Member of the Senate, Dean's Committee and College of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences Management Board, at the University of Nairobi (UON).
Prof Njenga Munene is a Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) registered veterinary surgeon and an active member of Kenya Veterinary Association where he serves as a trustee. He is deeply involved in community service and is a board member of two high schools and is also involved in community projects including water and the church.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy of Clinical Studies, a Master of Science in Clinical Studies and a Bache- lor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Nairobi. He further pursued Advanced Studies in Protozoan Diseases at Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Studies in Japan. He is widely travelled and has published and presented in conferences over 50 scientific publications and attracted several research grants. He has been honored with two service awards and certificates of excellent service.
