Zetech University today held a prestigious postgraduate luncheon and masterclass at the Technology Park Mang’u Campus, bringing together PhD and Master’s students for a networking and collaborative session under the theme “Leading in Turbulence: Data-driven Decision-making for Digital Transformation.”

The event's highlight was the official launch of the University’s new Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration and Management programme. This strategic milestone aims to foster innovation and excellence in key areas such as business intelligence and data analytics, strategic management, human resource management, finance and entrepreneurship, and procurement, logistics, and supply chain management. The introduction of this programme is a testament to Zetech University’s commitment to equipping professionals with the skills and expertise required to lead in an increasingly complex and data-driven world.

Gracing the occasion was Mr. Michael Mugo, Principal Officer at CIC Microinsurance – CIC Group, who delivered an insightful keynote speech on the event’s theme. Addressing the postgraduate students, he emphasised the importance of leveraging relationships, technology, and partnerships in research to drive impactful leadership. “In a world filled with turbulence, you have to lead with precision. You must leverage the relationships and networks you have, embrace technology, and harness the power of partnerships and collaborations in research to make a lasting impact as thought leaders of the ever-evolving 21st century,” Mr. Mugo remarked.

The event also provided a platform for postgraduate students to share their experiences. Ms. Jemima Ngode, Group HR Manager at Radio Africa Group and one of the first PhD students in the newly launched programme, lauded the University for its supportive learning environment. “I want to thank Zetech University for the kind of executive coaching that we receive. This inaugural masterclass has provided us with an opportunity to network, collaborate, and exchange ideas. What stands out for me is how Zetech University has created an atmosphere that enables research, making my PhD journey seamless,” she stated.

Zetech University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Njenga Munene, underscored the importance of the PhD programme launch in fostering research that delivers real-world solutions. “Today’s luncheon and launch of the Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration and Management is not just an event but a call to action for creating solutions that impact our

communities. It is through research that Zetech University will push the boundaries of knowledge, address pressing global challenges, and develop solutions that have a lasting impact,” he said. He further encouraged students to strive to make an impact in their fields of research beyond just earning their degrees. His sentiments were echoed by Prof. Peter Kibas, Dean of the School of Business and Economics.

This launch follows closely on the heels of Zetech University’s recent introduction of the Bachelor of Education Science programme, further solidifying the institution’s position as a leader in higher education and research.

As Zetech University continues to expand its postgraduate offerings, this milestone marks yet another step toward fostering academic excellence and equipping professionals with the skills necessary for transformative leadership in business and beyond.
