On 22nd March 2025, Zetech University’s Technology Park at the Mang’u campus became a hub of innovation and creativity as it hosted a full-day celebration of Arduino Day 2025. This global event, marking two decades of Arduino’s transformative journey, showcased the university’s commitment to fostering technological collaboration and nurturing innovation through its iZet Hub.

The event commenced with an inspiring address from Mr. Samuel Kinuthia, the ITECH Community Patron at Zetech University. In his remarks, he highlighted the power of open-source technology, collaboration, and continuous learning as key drivers of innovation. His speech set the stage for an engaging and knowledge-packed day.
One of the key figures behind the event’s success was Kevin Gitau, a finalist in the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program. As the Robotics and IoT Lead, ITECH Chair, and TME Education Kenya Ambassador, Kevin, together with a dedicated team of students, meticulously planned and executed the event to ensure an enriching experience for all attendees.
The celebration featured dynamic breakout sessions where industry experts and mentors guided participants through real-world applications of Arduino. One notable session focused on environmental monitoring, offering hands-on experiments with sensor technologies and data analysis to address pressing global challenges. These sessions not only deepened technical understanding but also fostered a collaborative spirit among participants.

Live demonstrations further captivated attendees, showcasing how an Arduino board can unlock limitless possibilities in robotics and IoT.
