Zetech University, in collaboration with leading healthcare providers, hosted a successful Health and Wellness Day at the Ruiru Campus, reaffirming its commitment to corporate social responsibility and community health.

The event, held every semester, provided free medical checkups, consultations, and diagnostic services to students and members of the public. This semester’s initiative saw the university partner with prominent healthcare institutions, including Nairobi West Hospital, Equity Afia, Aga Khan Hospital, Celestial Dental Clinic, Plainsview Hospital, Britam, AAR Healthcare, and Partners in Health and Research Development.

Attendees benefited from various health services, including general medical checkups, blood donation drives, medical insurance registration for students proceeding on attachment, eye and dental screenings, and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) screening and treatment. In addition, specialists were on-site to offer referrals for advanced diagnostics where necessary.

Zetech University Vice-Chancellor, in his remarks, highlighted the significance of the initiative, emphasising the institution's dedication to fostering a healthy and informed community.

“We believe in holistic education that goes beyond academics. Ensuring our students and the neighbouring community have access to essential healthcare services is part of our mission,” he stated.

This event builds on Zetech University’s previous healthcare outreach efforts. Last year, the university held an eye screening drive at the Technology Park Mang'u Campus, which attracted over 2,000 community members seeking ophthalmic services.

Through these initiatives, Zetech University continues to set a precedent for institutions of higher learning in championing community welfare and bridging gaps in access to healthcare services.
