The fourth leg of the Sportpesa national sevens circuit kicked off on 24th August at the Kabeberi sevens at the RFUEA grounds, Ngong road. This year’s leg featured 20 teams in the division two with five pools each pool demonstrating an able capability to compete in the circuit.
The first round featured Zetech University against JKUAT where they won 19-12, while the former division one regulars Mean Machine with a big win against Kiambu rugby of 22-07. Newbies in the division two; Homeboyz rugby made a statement with a 15-00 win over Kenya Prisons. Sigalagala put up an impressive performance to beat Meru RFC 38-00. AP warriors secured a big win over Cooperative university beating them 35-00, enhancing their cup quarter finals target.
Mean Machine picked up their second win of the round two with a 10-05 win against Kenya Prisons. Homeboyz continued with their winning streak with a 47-00 win over Kiambu Rugby. Sigalagala picked up a second win with a 15-07 win against JKUAT. Zetech University also showcased their prowess with a 31-00 win against Meru RFC. Northern Suburbs picked up an easy 28-00 win over Molo RFC securing their second win of the day.
The third round was quite competitive with teams fighting for a slot in the cup quarter finals and the challenge trophy quarter finals. Zetech Oaks went ahead to win the Division two 45-00 against Kabarak University, booking their slot in the upcoming driftwood series.
