The Kenya Under-20 rugby team, Chipu, is set to hold a training camp on Sunday at the Rugby Football Union of East Africa (RFUEA) Grounds as part of their early preparations for the 2025 Barthes Trophy. The camp will bring together Nairobi-based players, offering them an opportunity to showcase their talent and stake a claim for a place in the final squad.

Among those selected for the trials, Zetech Oaks continues to make headlines, with three of its standout players earning a well-deserved call-up. Ian Wandu, playing the loosehead prop position; Michael Kamunge, playing the hooker position; and Sunway Murila, playing the lock position, will represent the Oaks, underlining the club’s growing reputation as a breeding ground for young rugby talent.

Their selection is a testament to their hard work and dedication, as well as the development programs at Zetech Oaks that continue to produce top-quality players. The trio will now aim to impress the Chipu coaching staff and secure a spot in the team that will compete in the prestigious Barthes Trophy, a tournament that serves as Africa’s premier U20 rugby championship.

With talent and determination on their side, Wandu, Kamunge, and Murila will be eager to make their mark as they take the next step in their rugby journey.
