University ushers first years while adopting technology
Zetech University management led by the Vice Chancellor Professor Njenga Munene had an engaging session with the first years through a zoom meeting while interacting with the freshmen and women in commencing their academic journey.
Welcoming the over 1,000 students who were in attendance, Prof Munene congratulated them for choosing Zetech as their campus of choice where staff are concerned about students’ welfare. He also assured them on the quality of online and face to face learning with the University transition to online learning during the Covid-19 while remaining professional and customer focused.
He said, “We are proud to have provided our learners with relevant resources to aid their studies while upgrading the system to accommodate over 10,000 students at any session for a better experience. Online learning is no longer an option but the new norm that requires quality infrastructure of internet, smart devices and learning materials.” said Prof Munene. He added that online learning has ensured uninterrupted learning that will ensure students graduate this year.
While reminding the freshers’ to pursue their education with diligence, Prof Munene challenged them to always keep their guard while not forgetting what brought them to the University. “As we remain a listening University, we require a vibrant student community that is innovative, creative in problem solving and original in develop their ideas.” added Prof Njenga.
During the Orientation, student was advised that the Zetech experience will provide the necessary environment through modern learning systems with both digital and physical interfaces, which is coupled with opportunities to grow talent and develop innovations. “Make good use of opportunities to grow yourself in excellence, life skills and in community service,” shared Mr. Peter Osumba, Register Academics, who also assured the learners of the commitment of the Faculty to nurture them into holistic graduands.
In attendance was Mr. Moses Maina, the Executive Director Corporate affairs together with the heads of the department who congratulated the students for their bold step in their academic journey. In the closing remarks, Head of Department, School of Business and Economics Henry Kiogora challenged the students to take up every opportunity for industry exposure while walking with mentors during the campus journey.
