In a bid to enlighten form four leavers and the general public on the opportunities available in the higher education sector, Zetech University is holding an insightful career expo to advise and educate them on what it takes to join university.
The sessions, planned for 18th and 19th January at the varsity’s Thika Road campus and 22nd-23rd January in the Nairobi CBD at the August 7th memorial park, will include timely career talks, one on one sessions with industry leaders, lecturers and career advisors targeted at ensuring the youth in the country are exposed to available opportunities for them in the higher education sector.
This year’s edition promises to be memorable as we bring in key guests to cover topics around business, innovation and media as well as available university programmes and financing options, which will help participants make the decision to join university.
Commenting on the event, the varsity’s Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge on Academics, Research and Extension Dr. Alice Njuguna highlighted that following the release of the 2017 KCSE results, this is a critical moment for many young people across the country who are eager but unclear on what it takes to join a reputable university, “Through this career fair, we will equip them with all the information they require and walk them through the journey of joining university to ensure they are able to promptly start their higher education journey.” She said.
The University has over the years invested in such forums as they are instrumental in providing potential students and their guardians with information on advancing their education and hastening the process of joining university. In 2017, the institution partnered with Daily Nation’s youthful pullout My Network to reach out to hundreds of students and cultivate their appetite for university education.
The three day event hosted celebrated Ntv anchor Gladys Gachanja who complemented the academic environment by engaging guests on the matters media, communications and branding. Moreover, three HR Consultants Jane Muiruri, Fred Gituku, as well as Nation Media Group HR Director Mwikali Muthiani, who spoke on transitioning from campus to employment and how to pursue career advancement.
