Diploma in Communication and Media Studies (Broadcast Option)

This course seeks to produce highly motivated and qualified trainees who can be easily absorbed in the contemporary media industry. The student is introduced to the history of media and how it connects with the modern day industry. The course includes both theory and technical/practical aspects complete with industrial attachment. Students get to specialize in Broadcast, Print, Advertising and Public Relations in year two.

Target Groups

•The course targets trainees who are preparing themselves to work as media professionals either as a reporter/journalist or communication analyst.

•Students from any discipline who wish to start a career in mass communication or others who are currently working in other occupations and wish to switch to mass communication.

•Undergraduate degree students in a discipline other than mass communication, it also serves as a prerequisite to entering degree in mass communication or degree in journalism program in any internationally accredited University.

•Professionals in other fields who wish to have knowledge on media either for personal goals or develop him/her career-wise.

Entry Requirements

Be a holder of KCSE with a minimum aggregate of C- Minus with a D+ in English OR Swahili


Be a holder of KCSE C- (minus) with credit pass certificate


Be a holder of professional Certificate in a relevant discipline from the institution recognized by Zetech University.

Duration of Programme

This diploma course shall be offered in eighteen (22) months subdivided into four (5) semesters.
