In a heated men’s basketball showdown, the Zetech University Men’s side, Zetech Titans, battled a strong Umoja side in the KBF Division One finals- game one and two.
The initial kick off saw the Titans silence Umoja with a deserved 73-54 win in a game that played out at the Strathmore basketball court, with a 34-19 lead at half time. The team led throughout the quarters, with the assistance of Joshua Kisali with 13 points, Chris Oluk with 22 points and Jeremy Opiyo with 12 points, in the Saturday match.
However, in Game two, the Umoja squad picked up pace to register a lead over the Titans. The Zetech gents succumbed to defeat, registering a 56-83 as the fight for the number one trophy intensifies. The country is eager to see the final results with the remaining games promising to be an epic faceoff, as the teams prepare to outdo each other.
Commenting on the results, Coach Job Munene shared that the Titans are focused on maintaining form to claim victory in the upcoming games and secure the overall win,
“It is a tough battle and so far we each have a win. The Titans are training hard and working through all weak points to ensure we lock down the next games and make our institution proud.”
Noting the success of the team to join the national KBF premier league, the University Head of Student Affairs Moses Maina has celebrated the efforts of the varsity sides, emphasising the commitment of the management in empowering the squads to win.
