Dr. Alice Njuguna, with Hospitality students at Thika Road Campus
Zetech University has appointed Dr. Alice Njuguna as Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academics, Research and Extension. She joins the institution from KCA University where she worked for 18 years, serving in several leadership roles including Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor- Academic Affairs, Associate DVC in charge of ICT and Distant Learning, Director, ICT and Dean, Faculty of Science and IT.
Her addition to the team is expected to build up on quality service provided at the institution, and support the Academic team in its efforts to provide excellent education to learners.
Dr. Njuguna, who brings to Zetech a wealth of expertise and experience, holds a PhD in IT Education from Capella University, a Master of Science in Computer-based Information Systems from the University of Sunderland and a Bachelor of Science Education from Egerton University.
Dr. Njuguna also holds leadership roles in the Kenya Education Network (KENET) where she is; Chairperson of the Special Interests Group in Educational Technology, Member, Audit and Governance Committee and a Member of the organisation’s Management board.
Noting that her appointment is timely and will work towards better services at Zetech, VC Prof. Wamukoya welcome Dr. Njuguna, noting that the academic and research department will benefit from her expertise and experience and this will play a key role in promoting quality and academic excellence at the Varsity.
The expert in IT education expressed her excitement in joining a vibrant and youthful team, highlighting her focus on quality and excellent customer service, “I am delighted to be a part of Zetech University and I look forward to joining a team that focuses on the customer; I am confident that I will fit in well with the Zetech family.”
Commenting on what drives her, she shares that she chooses to focus on the bigger picture and live a focused life every single day. Her message to the team she will work with is, “Whatever God has called you to be, do not relent from self-improvement; this is how you impact other peoples’ lives. You cannot pour from an empty vessel.”
She shares that she thrives on an open door policy and her office, located next to the VC’s Office, at the Varsity Thika Road Campus.is open to students, who she encourages to read, learn and watch what they feed their mind and bodies.
The new DVC looks forward to a successful stay at the ISO certified institution.
