The year kicked off on a high note at Zetech University as the latest trainees flocked the Varsity main campus to learn all about their new institution of learning. The young students duly reported at 8:00 am to verify their documents as they prepared themselves for an eventful afternoon at the ultramodern auditorium where they would engage with different department heads present to orient them on all matters Zetech.
The trainees dressed to impress and aptly making friends with their new campus mates, easily adapted to the serene environment at the varsity and actively interacted with administration and training personnel, to ensure they enjoy their stay at Zetech.
Welcoming the students, University Vice Chancellor Prof. Edwin Wamukoya noted with delight that the university is excited to train yet another lot of trainees eager to gain quality education and invent their futures. He further advised the students on what to expect from the varsity staff but also cautioned them to be disciplined both in and out of class,
“It is my pleasure to officially welcome our new learners; we are excited that you made the right choice and we look forward to empowering you to be change agents in the world. This country is in need for innovators rather than consumers and we expect that together we will produce holistic graduates who will impact positively.” said Prof. Wamukoya.
On her part, the University Dean of Students encouraged the students to compliment their academics by participating in the numerous Clubs created to nurture and develop talent at the campus. Ms. Elizabeth Muhia was categorical that learners have a lot of time in university and should use their time wisely to gain skills, network, compete and learn new things in order to be an all rounded student,
“You have to make the bold choice to study hard and join or start a club that will sharpen your thinking and build your networks. Moreover, your talent can take you as a far as gaining a scholarship and you should give this the attention it deserves.” Elizabeth added.
As the orientation sessions progresses, the students received information on class timetables, administrative functions, exams process, payment of fees and extracurricular opportunities. The group also enjoyed snacks as they got to mingle with their respective Heads of Department and enjoyed a tour of the facility.
Indeed, the university is grateful to have welcomed the new trainees and looks forward to a fruitful interaction throughout their stay at Zetech.
