It is all systems go for universities as they prepare for a heated clash in the upcoming KUSA National games that will serve as the climax of what can be described as a busy season. The battle for the top spot, which will feature student teams from institutions across the country, is set to take place from 20th April at Taita Taveta University.
Ready to battle seasoned teams in the onslaught, Zetech University soccer team Zetech Titans have adequately prepared for the onslaught, flagging off their team in a memorable session with new Vice Chancellor Prof. John Munene at the varsity main campus. During the event, Prof. Munene and other management representatives lauded the team for their success and encouraged the players to put their best feet forward and bring home the coveted top prize.
The Titans impressed in the KUSA Nairobi conference action at the Catholic University of East Africa beating seasoned teams to secure position two to qualify for the final in the competition that saw Machakos University win the number one spot. In the season, the Zetech Titans secured 18 wins, draws and lost three games.
Commenting on the action, Team Coach Bernard Kitolo noted that the gents approached every game tactfully, playing each game with the necessary precision and strategy. “The team is ready for the action and we are optimistic about our performance in the national competition. The players are disciplined and determined to win and have trained well for the games.” Kitolo added.
