Diploma in Records and Archives Management (DRAM)

The course is designed to address the corresponding increase in the management of electronic business records, securely and efficiently. These officers are tasked to manage electronic records, design principles of records management, develop and implement Record systems, define metadata principles, classification and information management, develop and set up enterprise content management (ECM).

Programme Goals.

  1. To equip students with knowledge and skills for the management of different types of records, archives and information institutions.
  2. Expose students to the principles and practices associated with successfully managing electronic and paper-based business information.
  3. Address the increased demand for qualified staff in records and archives management in both the private and public sector.

Entry Requirements

Aggregate Mean grade C – with a university recommended grade in Maths or English or History

Duration:

Four (4) trimesters

Learning Outcomes

  • Provide a knowledge base for careful management of business records and information in any format and outline.
  • The ability to create, organise and destroy or archive electronic or paper records through the creation of efficient systems and  processes taking into consideration the unique nature of each organisation.

Equip students with the ability to work with other information management professionals to plan for and provide professional and ethical information management guidance and solutions within a rapidly changing industry.
